One finance function, five different ways of getting to yes
The same finance function looks completely different depending on which country is running it: how decisions get approved, how disagreement gets raised, how hard news gets delivered. Running one number across teams in Mexico, Brazil, China, Germany, and the US means the real job isn't the model, it's getting five different working cultures to actually trust the same process. That's harder right now, not easier: trade tension and political volatility are making cross-border relationships more sensitive than they've been in years, and what used to be a minor cultural mismatch can now read as something much bigger. This keynote is about what actually breaks first in a global finance team under pressure, and what it takes to keep the numbers reliable when the people producing them are operating under very different rules. Key takeways: - Where the same finance process breaks differently depending on which country's team is running it, and why that's a leadership problem, not a process one. - How to read what's actually happening on a team when direct disagreement isn't culturally safe to raise. - What's changed about managing global teams given current geopolitical and trade volatility, and where extra care is actually warranted right now.
