Designing the decision: Why good analysis keeps losing to bad timing
Picture the moment: the analysis is finished, the recommendation is sound, and the decision has already been made, informally, in a corridor conversation FP&A wasn't part of. This happens more often than most functions want to admit, and it's rarely because the analysis was wrong. This keynote goes inside the real mechanics of executive decision-making: who's actually in the room when the call gets made, how far ahead of finance's usual involvement that moment happens, and what it takes for FP&A to earn a seat in it instead of producing the paperwork that explains it afterward. Key takeaways: - Where the real decision-making moment sits in your organisation, and how far ahead of finance's usual involvement it happens - What earns FP&A a seat in that moment, rather than a summary role after the fact - A practical read on how to build earlier influence into recurring commercial decisions
